About

Owen Kelly was born in Birkenhead, England, and lives in Helsinki, Finland.

He has worked as a community artist, cultural consultant, computer trainer and web designer, and is the author of several books, chapters and reports including Community, Art & The State (1984), and Digital Creativity (1995).

Currently he lectures in online media at Arcada, a university of applied science, while waiting to see if anyone accepts that he has completed his doctoral research at Aalto University. His thesis, Self Authorship & Ambient Learning, seeks to explore the often undiscussed pedagogical implications of immersive simulation and virtuality, and their relationship to meme theory.
